Regardless of my partiality for the shade, however, I'm very aware that red lipstick is apparently one of the most polarizing cosmetics staples out there. Additionally, I get it: it's kind of a scary trend to integrate into your cosmetics schedule. So, as the ultimate red lipstick evangelist, I set out on a mission to show that there are endless ways to wear the shade—and studied my partners to do the same. "I don't often wear a red lip, but when I do, it's usually a deeper burgundy tint; my all-time favorite is Clinique's Pop Rich Velvety Lip in Dark Honey Pop ($22). "Nars Lipstick in Intensity Wave ($26) has been covering my ride or bite dust for a full ten years. The finish is smooth, and the shade is super-saturated, so it delivers that elusive alarm effect. Physical. and ideal—and basically unimaginable fade away. Plus, the smooth, hydrating finish (Nor lipstick is enhanced with vitamin E to keep dryness under control all day and night. ) is absolutely flawless."

"I honestly love a red lip. So far, I mainly see myself as a red lipstick collector. One of my many (many, many) tubes. When wearing, I usually keep the rest of my face pretty minimal. As of late, I've been chasing a more understated '90s block shade, and I'm Givenchy Le Rouge Sheer Velvet Matte Lipstick in Bron Akajo ($42) is the perfect tone for channeling my inner Uma Therman, and the misty, somewhat sheer finish looks great. And looks a bit lighter than traditional mattes"Nars Lipstick in Intensity Wave ($26) has been my ride-or-bite-the-dust concealer for a whole ten years. The completion is smooth, and the shade is supersaturated, so it offers up that tricky alarm impact—full-bodied and exemplary—and takes into account a primarily imperceptible blur. Also, the smooth, hydrating finish (Nars lipsticks are improved with vitamin E to keep dryness under control the entire day, and night) is totally immaculate."

It's enduring and moves safe (no arbitrary lipstick blemishes on my brow, here) without feeling like it's sucking all the dampness from my lips. It's my go-to when I need to feel refined and easy."
